Summary
The high-pressure rotor shaft is a component used in steam turbines. It connects the high-pressure compressor and the high-pressure turbine to convert high-temperature and high-pressure gas into mechanical energy. The diameter of the high-pressure rotor shaft is generally smaller than the diameter of the low-pressure rotor shaft because the high-pressure rotor shaft rotates faster and has smaller torque. The material and design requirements of the high-pressure rotor shaft are also higher than those of the low-pressure rotor shaft, because the high-pressure rotor shaft has to withstand greater thermal stress and centrifugal force.
