Summary
A Solder Mask Exposure Machine is a specialized piece of equipment used in the printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing process. Its primary function is to expose the solder mask layer, which is a protective layer applied onto PCBs, to UV light or other forms of radiation, in order to create openings where components will be soldered.The solder mask layer is typically a photosensitive material that covers the copper traces on a PCB. When the PCB with the uncured solder mask is placed in the solder mask exposure machine, a photomask or stencil (also known as artwork) is positioned above it. This mask has cutouts that correspond to the areas where the solder pads and component leads should be exposed.
