Clostridium is a gram-positive bacteria that belongs to the Firmicutes phylum. There are multiple species of Clostridium — Clostridium botulinum, Clostridium difficile, Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium tetani, and Clostridium sordellii, which are responsible for numerous infections.
