A steel plate conveyor is a conveyor belt in which the load-carrying medium is a series of steel plates, each in the form of a short trough and connected together with slight overlap to form an articulated belt. The plates are connected to a central chain or two side chains. The chain connects the rollers running on the angle iron frame and transmits the driving force from the drive head, which can be installed at the intermediate point as well as at the head or tail.
