Abstract
Summary
Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂), commonly known as lime or hydrated lime, is a common chemical substance widely used in many fields, including industry, agriculture, and environmental protection. Calcium hydroxide can also be used as a deoxidizer in certain applications. As a deoxidizer, the main function of calcium hydroxide is to absorb moisture and release the hydroxide in the calcium hydroxide. This process is called "deoxygenation" because hydroxide is one of the building blocks of water, so by absorbing water and releasing hydroxide, moisture in the surrounding environment is reduced or eliminated. In certain situations where moisture content needs to be controlled, such as in some food processing, storage and transportation processes, deoxidizers can help prevent food spoilage or deterioration. The use of calcium hydroxide as a deoxidizer also has some limitations and precautions.
