α-Acetyl-γ-butyrolactone is a colorless and transparent liquid with ester odor, soluble in organic solvents. ABL is an important organic chemical raw material. It is mainly used for the preparation of intermediates of vitamin B1 and chlorophyll drugs. It can also be used for the anti-angina pectoris drug Dimenorrhea, and the antipsychotic drugs risperidone pyrimidine and paclitaxel with good effect on schizophrenia. The raw material of perperidone is also the main raw material for the production of the fungicide prothioconazole, and has a wide range of uses.
